Smart Palette

A tool to enable simple colour co-ordination and colour selection

 

Interaction with the user is often key to a products success. Smart Palette's function is to aid the user in colour selection and colour co-ordination.

 

Smart Palette is based on the principles of colour wheel. It combines elements of existing colour selection services such as paper based colour archives and colour analysis programs. Smart Palette is unique as it combines the portability of a handheld archive with the intelligence of computer programs.

 

The concept was an attempt to create a tool to enable the DIY enthusiast and a professional decorator to discuss colour, a subjective concept, through an object which aimed to standardise colour theory.

 

The project focused on prototyping for user feedback. Iterations of the product’s form and function enabled a product which is what the intended user needs. The Smart Palette was designed to be robust and simple to use to allow all manner of users access to its features. You can input the exact colour on the right of the product or via buttons to ultimately generate your perfect colour scheme.
