Re-Evolution
A concept for a sustainable recycling centre
Re-Evolution is a commercially viable recycling centre concept. Recycling centres are often government funded to exist because recycling is rarely profitable without subsidy.
To make a recycling centre economically sustainable we intended to add additional stages to the recycling process. The additional stages involved the production of recycled designer products. These products re-use objects or materials and massively increase their value.
Often items can quite easily be given a new lease of life to massively increase their value and it is common to find that an object is discarded as it has no value with its present owner, though someone else might consider it valuable.
Value is relative and the concept aims to assess this relative value and stock old and reclaimed objects and pass on the object to a client who values the object. This concept was the starting point of a method that generated the Community Chest project.
